For those that don't know me too well personally,
at the age of 22, I am lucky enough to have two beautiful nieces!
(Make that three; there's another one on the way!)
Steppie + Hailey + Alyssa (circa 2007)
I see them more like little sisters than nieces if anything,
and it's been crazy watching them grow up so quickly...
Considering my older sister is pretty illiterate when it comes to using the computer beyond checking her e-mail, it was no surprise to me when she turned to her generous little sister (cough, cough) for some design help. My oldest niece, Hailey, is 'graduating' from elementary school and will soon be transitioning into her middle school years (ooh, here come the awkward years! lol)... and with the talk of the end of the academic year, comes yearbooks and the good 'ole yearbook ads. Being a yearbook staff nerd myself back in the day, it was pretty exciting to bust out some design layouts again.
Here's a photo in progress...
The photo pretty much wraps up when I was making my final
touches, but oh man did I suffer from creative block for a good hour or so.
No bueno.
But now that it's all done and finished,
I'm pretty happy with the final result...
And more importantly, I think Hailey will be too!
(Here's to hoping she doesn't find my blog... lol)
In any case, it was a nice feeling to do some design work on the computer again. And with my new projects coming up soon (to be revealed within the next coming weeks!), I doubt it will be the last time.
On another note, I apologize for my recent absence. Aside from more things being added to my plate, some family things have come up... things I don't feel comfortable talking about at the moment, but thought I would give a heads up in case anyone was wondering where I've been. I'm doing a little better... but it's all a matter of time, I suppose.
Anyway, thanks to all of you who still read my blog... I imagine I don't know who many of you are. For that reason, please introduce yourself and feel free to leave me comments... because they truly make my day.
Take care, blogger friends.
